Knee Straps

Jumper's knee or runner's knee are familiar conditions to those who play volleyball, basketball, marathon runners and even those who are trying to get back into shape with daily runs. A knee strap is one of the quickest and easiest ways to manage the pain and keep on moving.

Using a knee strap to relieve pain beneath the knee is great here, with the targeted gel support and active tracking, Bauerfeind's knee straps work to massage the patella tendon and alleviate the pain and discomfort that's caused by runner's knee and jumper's knee.

Will these help with runner's knee?

Is this better than taping?

Strong taping by a trained physiotherapist is the gold standard for support. However taping loses it's effectiveness over the day, especially when you're on the sports field. And having to pull it off each time and reapply, getting new tape each time, can make it expensive and painful in the long-term. Wearing a knee strap provides a similar level of support without the hassle or cost.

Will this prevent injury?

Knee straps will reduce the risk of injury or damage, mainly in the area around the kneecap. However, nothing can protect you 100%, and keeping the knee and its surrounding muscles strong and flexible is perfect when combined with a strap to keep you secure.

How do I clean my knee brace?

Wash the compression braces on a gentle cycle, at a low temperature, and then allow them to air-dry. Ideally, the garments should be washed in a delicates wash-bag. Clothes dryers should be avoided as the high temperatures can damage the fabric and grade of compression. For hard braces, hand-wash in cool water and allow to air-dry. Putting them on and taking them off carefully is recommended, and for specific product care, refer to the product manual or contact our friendly staff.
