Best Braces For AC Joint Separation

HOW CAN I RELIEVE PAIN FROM AN AC JOINT SEPARATION?

The shoulder joint is formed through the unity of 3 bones: the collarbone, shoulder blade arm bone. An AC joint (Acromioclavicular) separation occurs when collarbone separates from the shoulder blade, usually due to a fall on the area or from direct trauma (e.g. contact sports).

Typical symptoms include pain and swelling around the joint, limited range of movement and instability.

Bauerfeind’s high-quality shoulder braces and supports are designed with medical-grade compression to target the symptoms that are associated with AC joint separation.

The soft knit delivers the ultimate comfort and has supports embedded to provide an intermittent massage effect for improved circulation. This added support will help to stabilise your joint for optimal protection to help you recover with as minimal limitations to every day activities as possible.

MANLY SEA EAGLES PLAYER USES THE OMOTRAIN FOR SHOULDER RECOVERY

Take a look at NRL player Brendan Elliot from Manly Sea Eagles wearing the OmoTrain shoulder brace for extra shoulder support.

The Omotrain guides and centres the arm in the socket so the shoulder maintains proper natural movement, without impacting your mobility.

Strapping runs across back and hips, so it won't impinge upon the chest area. The OmoTrain can be worn on either the left or right shoulder. Push your personal best like Brendan with Bauerfeind!

"I have had the Omo train for about three weeks. I tore a rotator cuff tendon about 2 months ago and although I had good range of movement I have weakness and pain particularly at night. I noticed a significant reduction in pain after 2 or 3 days wearing the Omo train. I was expecting it to be a little uncomfortable and while it's not unnoticeable I have found it was ok to wear for a full day at work. It is always nice to take it off after work though." - Gwyn M.

HOW TO TREAT PAIN CAUSED BY AC JOINT SEPARATION?

      • Rest. Avoid moving your arms in positions that could aggravate it (e.g. overhead reaching).
      • Icing. Apply ice on the area that is swollen and inflamed for 15 minutes, every 4 hours during the first few days until swelling subsides.
      • Physical therapy. Your physiotherapist may prescribe you with specific stretching and strengthening exercises for your rotator cuff muscles.
      • Anti-inflammatory medicines. Medications may be prescribed by your doctor to ease pain and inflammation.
      • Severe or persistent pain should be investigated by your doctor or physiotherapist.

Play it safe: Consult a doctor if you experience unusually intense and persistent tendonitis pain.
