Skier's Thumb Braces

Skier's thumb is a condition that can range from mild strain of the tendons in the thumb all the way up to a full avulsion fracture that causes constant pain and stiffness.

If it's stopping you from hitting the slopes or getting work done in the office, treatment to manage the injury is vital to an effective and quick recovery. If you use a skier's thumb splint, you can get the stability and support you need to keep on moving without worrying about thumb pain.

Can I wear these all day or just when I exercise?
Most of our sports line is designed for wear during active movement rather than all day, while our main range (products ending in "Train" or "Loc") are better suited for injury management and all day wear, whether it's sports, exercise, work or just chores around the house. If you're unsure if the support you're looking at is ideal for all day wear, just contact our friendly staff.
Can I still move properly in these?
These supports are designed to allow for regular range of movement while stabilising the joint and preventing injury. This means you can confidently move in pivots, sudden changes of direction, jumps and landing as well as quick steps and positioning.
Will these overheat?
Bauerfeind's range of supports are made from an ultra-breathable cotton/elastic weave that's perfect for active use of any level. Clinically shown to vent heat more effectively than any other support, it's perfect for air-flow, temperature regulation and comfort.
How do I take care of these products?
Virtually all of our products can be machine washed on a cold gentle cycle and air dried out of direct sunlight. Putting them on and taking them off carefully is recommended, and for specific product care, refer to the product manual or contact our friendly staff.
How do I know they'll fit?
{"type":"root","children":[{"type":"paragraph","children":[{"type":"text","value":"Bauerfeind has an incredibly extensive sizing system for our products based off of hundreds of thousands of patient measurements. The perfect anatomic fit system we use means that the supports are designed to fit your body, not the other way around."}]}]}
Will these change how I play?
While any kind of brace or support will have an affect on your physical movement, it's in a positive sense. More stability in the joints and muscles, increased power with each movement and better balance mean that you'll move more effectively. It may take a little bit of adjustment with some supports that have rigid components, but long-term there should only be an improvement in your form.
