While taping is the strongest type of support you can get when you're playing sport, it has plenty of its own drawbacks, including repeated need for application, residue and pain when removing it, expertise needed to properly apply as well as the fact that a lot of movement causes it to shift over time. Wearing an ankle instability support is as easy as putting on a shoe, and can fit in with any lifestyle for all day wear. You can even put them on over a taped ankle for maximum support.
