Ankle Splints

Whether you have sprained your ankle (one too many times), had a fracture or damaged one of your ligaments, keeping your joint stable with an ankle splint is a tried and true method used by doctors, physios and medics across the world.

Bauerfeind have a wide range of ankle splints to suit every level of instability, whether it's a lid sprain from rolling the ankle, or stroke has left the joint completely weakened. With anatomically contoured shaping to give all day comfort, we've got the ankle splint for you.

Will these weaken my muscles?

While cheaper and less effective braces can cause an issue known as reliance (where the muscles become weaker and rely on the brace), Bauerfeind have perfected the blend of stability and movement. By restricting or immobilising specific parts of the ankle that need it, and freeing up the rest, you can continue to exercise, building and maintaining strength in the joint.

Do splints cause pain in other parts of the ankle?

When a splint or brace is poorly fitted, not fitting to the anatomy or sized incorrectly, it can put pressure on other parts of the foot and leg, causing bruising and pain. Bauerfeind's perfect fit system and anatomic design means you can get the right splint for your ankle, not matter your shape. We've also got a 30 day exchange policy so you can try it on to make sure and swap it for something more suitable if you need to.

Can I fit my shoe over these?

Part of our anatomic fit and design means that the braces fit where they need to without being bulky or taking up space where they don't. Our ankle splints follow the shape of your foot and ankle, meaning that most shoes will easily fit over the top of them, sometimes needing a bit of loosening in the laces.

All supports and insoles come with a 12 month warranty, and compression stockings with a 3 month warranty for any manufacturers faults. At any point if you've got issues with the product or aren't sure if something is wrong, just contact our helpful staff.

How do I know they'll fit?

Bauerfeind have an incredibly extensive sizing system for our products based off of hundreds of thousands of patient measurements. The perfect anatomic fit system we use means that the supports are designed to fit your body, not the other way around. (We also offer custom options for a range of our products for those rare few who still can't fit into our sizing range).
