Returning to Running After a Knee Injury

Injury-free finally, how to return back to running after a knee injury?

The knee is a vital part of the body helping to support the weight of the body, therefore it is especially prone to injury.

Fractures, ligament tears, soft tissue damage, bursitis and effusion of the joint are all very common running knee injuries.

During your initial recovery weeks, brisk walking is a good way to activate the leg muscles.

Depending on the severity of the injury, the body can take from 5 days upto 2-3 weeks to adapt the muscoskeletal system back to its natural state.

If you are returning back from a chronic knee injury, it is best to consult a doctor or physiotherapist to develop your rehabilitation programme and recommend you the right brace for your treatment.

It is important to remember to ease back into running at a high intensity and regularity. Wearing a Bauerfeind knee brace can assist with the recovery process and aid in ease of running after a knee injury.

The medical-grade compression and flat-knit fabric of the GenuTrain knee brace allows healing of muscle fibres and reducing swelling post a knee injury.

It helps in draining out the accumulated lactic acid from affected areas and reducing excessive muscle vibrations caused by running. Reduced vibrations decrease overall tiredness and fatigue runners would experience.
