SHOULD I RUN AFTER A MENISCUS SURGERY?
Meniscus is a rubbery cartilage tissue cushioned in between the bones that make up the knee joints. It acts as a shock absorber while doing heavy activities like running and weightlifting.
Meniscus surgery can be either partial or total, depending on the torn meniscus being removed or it can be lateral meniscus surgery or medial meniscus surgery, depending on the part of meniscus being removed.
We recommend you consult your physician regarding returning to running after the surgery. Usually patients can get back into running after two or three months with the aid of knee braces.
Bauerfeind knee braces can provide mobility and support to get back to an active, pain-free life and slowly running post surgery.
We recommend using an advanced orthosis SecuTec Genu for post-op care after a meniscus surgery. It is sturdy, yet lightweight as it is made of a special, very strong light metal alloy which aids in greater stability and range of movement when running.
Bauerfeind’s high-quality supports or braces with medical-grade compression are designed to provide pain relief and stability.
Our knit material and special viscoelastic cushioned pads make for a comfortable brace to complement your recovery process.
