The big on-field moments often determine the outcome of a high-paced State of Origin match.

But what’s not spoken about as much are the small moments and the “one percenters” that happen away from the bright lights.

For the Queensland Maroons and Harvey Norman Queensland Maroons teams, the small things in their preparation include the need for players to have access to the right recovery and performance products.

Enter Bauerfeind, the Maroons’ official supplier of compression, braces, and supports during the intense Origin period, during which players are often required to play multiple games in short periods.

QRL chief executive officer Ben Ikin said the Maroons were excited to partner with Bauerfeind again this year.

“We’ve been fortunate to have Bauerfeind in our corner since the start of the 2020 Origin series with their nearly century-long rich history of leading products and innovation,” Ikin said.

“They bring a level of expertise from their long history of involvement in top tier sports such as the NBA and Olympic Games that provides much-needed support to our athletes at a rigorous time of the year."

Queensland’s men’s and women’s Origin teams have both completed tough away games in Sydney and Newcastle, respectively.

With Bauerfeind supporting the Maroons’ trainers and physios, the players have access to the best possible treatment and recovery methods.

Bauerfeind ANZ managing director Walid Yassine said he was excited about the ongoing partnership since 2020 in supporting both Maroons teams.

“The passion and high-performance drive encapsulated by the Maroons aligns closely with our unwavering commitment to excellence," Yassine said.

"We strive to help each and every Australian live a more active and pain-free life wherever they may be with their health aspirations.

“A lot goes on behind the scenes to have players game-ready during the intense period of Origin. We are proud of this ongoing relationship with the Maroons and to be entrusted by the athletes and medical teams with their performance and recovery needs during such a crucial period of time.”

The Bauerfeind range is designed to maximise performance, boost confidence and speed up recovery.

“We’re really fortunate that the Queensland Maroons have a great relationship with Bauerfeind to look after all of our compression needs,” Maroons men’s physio Steven Sartori said.

“Bauerfeind products help players perform at their best in the lead up to games as well as during the games.

“From managing muscle soreness with compression gear to medical grade products that help players recover, Bauerfeind helps the team be at their best.”
